The Role

The Treasury team is part of the Group Finance Function that helps provide all aspects of financial direction to support our Group’s strategic decisions. The principles and smooth running of this function is fundamental to the institution and, through rigorous, collaborative, and long-term thinking, the Finance function gives us the foundation to achieve the Group’s ambitious objectives.

The Treasury Accountant role requires an analytical mindset. Based in accounting and corporate finance, you should also have an interest in capital markets and corporate capital structures. You should display an understanding of the broader finance function of a large corporate with a passion for automating tasks through technology.

Key Responsibilities

•Review funding requirements across the ION Investment Group
•Prepare, review and challenge cash flow forecasts
•Work closely with our Tax, Legal and Audit teams to plan and execute Transactions
•Provide analysis and insight to the ION C-Suite for treasury related matters
•Develop and maintain bank relationships
•Develop and maintain investment strategies for excess cash
•Develop and maintain hedging strategies for short cash positions
•Help manage and develop junior team members
•Manage queries from all stakeholders (both internal and external) on a timely basis, ensuring best-in-class service is provided at all times
•Focus on continuous improvement of treasury and finance workflows via the use of existing and new technology solutions
•Lead major Treasury transformation projects, e.g.:
‒Bank rationalisation
‒Acquisition integration
‒Design automated cash pooling structures
‒Lead the drive for automation within the Treasury department and throughout the ION Finance Function

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

•1.1 or 2.1 degree in any field
•ACA or equivalent qualification
•0-2 years PQE preferred; previous experience in a corporate finance or treasury role is preferred but not required
•Demonstrated experience in implementing or utilising technology to improve financial processes
•Ability to identify areas for possible improvement and to project manage change initiatives
•Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
