Your role:

As a Senior Software Consultant, you will help customers (premier financial institutions) realize their goals through our technology solutions, leading multiple months’ long engagements from business analysis through to deployment, customer adoption, and customizations. This dynamic role combines engagement management, customer management, and hands-on engineering as you manage projects end-to-end either solo or as part of a team. Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and release sophisticated applications for mission-critical, high performance distributed trading systems
Customize ION configurable products to assemble novel solutions that achieve client business objectives, putting yourself on the forefront of our R&D efforts
Be 100% responsible for successful solution launches, including deployment of new releases to production, active adoption by customer users, and smooth hand-offs to client services / support and account management
Perform business analysis through interaction with customer users (traders, developers, quants, technology and business managers), developing expertise in customer workflows, objectives, and how our technology will best deliver value (including developing technical requirements)
Extend system capabilities though implementing distributed system components in Python, C#, Java, and/or Javascript
Proactively manage customer expectations, convey status, and seek mutually beneficial new opportunities.
Maintain the ION brand and advance our reputation for customer satisfaction, instilling confidence in ION at all levels at the customer

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Excellent grasp of software engineering principles with 2 or more years programming in at least one of the following languages: Python, C#, Java, or C++ (or a demonstrated history of mastering multiple modern programming languages such as C, Perl, Ruby, and/or Javascript)
1-3 years in a business-facing, hands-on technical role with demonstrated experience driving requirements gathering, managing projects, interacting with users/customers, and learning new domains, organizations, and technology
Front office capital markets knowledge and/or experience with financial software or trading
Bachelor’s degree or advanced certificate in STEM field or related experience

Preferred:

Familiarity with SQL and databases
Experience with real-time distributed systems and fast-cycle version iterations a plus
Master’s degree
