Job Description
The company has an established change management group that review, administer and apply changes to the release systems controlling future and previous releases of the Wallstreet FX system. This team forms part of the Software Management team who manage and build all Wallstreet FX software and create new releases of the system.
 
This post is part of the change management team based in the company’s London offices with day to day reporting to the Senior Configuration Management Technician who in turn reports to the Software Management Manager.
The successful applicant will be expected to perform the following duties:
 
Configuration Management responsibilities
Review software and configuration changes that are submitted for the next release, ensuring that adequate information is provided to implement all changes for the release and upgrades.
To implement on a daily basis changes into the Release Candidate VM (virtual machine) and maintain the release upgrade guide for use in future release upgrades.
To perform a basic sanity check on the upgraded system and produce daily VM’s for automated testing by QA.
To analyze and where required troubleshoot configuration issues, with the assistance of other technical experts within the company.
To check for any gaps in submitted software versions and follow up with developers to ensure all incremental versions are submitted to the release candidate.
Produce regular gap analysis reporting between head revisions and the release candidate revisions so that this can be monitored by R&D management.
Review software and configuration changes that are requested for the previous releases, maintaining existing release upgrade guides as required.

The successful candidate will join the Change Management team reporting to the Senior Change Management Technician. The post requires someone with good all round technical skills who will be quick to learn the specifics of the system.
 
 
Technical Skills
Linux or Unix at a good user level
Experience of SQL queries or entry level DBA
Scripting knowledge would be an added advantage
Windows server exposure would also be an advantage
 
Education
Qualified candidates will have an academic degree in Software Engineering or in Computer Science, or have a professional qualification.
