This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining an existing team with ample opportunity to make your mark.  With experience in the hosted infrastructure space (network/systems/databases/private cloud), you will be responsible for assisting the Regional Datacenter Manager in developing and maintaining the standards and operational processes required to provide the highest level of availability and support for our clients production trading systems.
The successful candidate will have a track record in managing operations teams in mission critical production environments coupled with an deep knowledge of  technologies, standards, and industry guidelines as they apply to the hosted infrastructure space.
Operating a privately managed global network and utilising a global follow the sun model for critical services the successful candidate will be directly responsible for day to day activities of the operations team with key involvement in managing resources delivering time sensitive workstreams in an ITIL based environment (incident, change, problem management). Essential will be a can do operational attitude  which will see the successful candidate responsible for leading an operational team in support of our global clients production trading environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Regional Data Centre Manager in the continuous improvement cycle driving improvements in ION's overall operating efficiency
Support the Regional Data Centre Manager through management and leadership of the L1/L2 operations team including recruitment , performance and resource management activities
Own responsibility for managing/planning day to day operational activities necessary to meet ongoing business demand in a fast pace challenging environment
Ensure highest levels of service availability are maintained through adherence to all incident, change and problem processes
Act as a management escalation point for all monitoring, alerting and operational related issues as  required by the business
Provision of Major Incident support during unplanned service outages including acting as  focal point for information gathering activities  during and post incident as part of root cause analysis activities
Deputise for Regional Datacentre Manager at internal and external meeting and forums as required

Required skills, experience and qualifications:

Experience of managing a team (Manager/Team Lead/Senior Engineer) working in a relevant operations environment supporting  HA/Mission Critical systems and services at an enterprise scale.
An understanding of the nature and interdependencies of mission critical systems  in support of  wider business deliverables (Data Centres, power distribution, connectivity, networking, systems)
Problem solver with attention to detail ideally with strong engineering background in one or more technical disciplines (networks/systems)
Exposure to or experience in supporting Financial Services environments a benefit
