The Role:
The Tokyo Infrastructure group is seeking an additional member within the network team to assist with an upcoming DC migration project.
Key Responsibilities
- 50% of your time will be based in the office working on planning and logistics, network design, deployment, troubleshooting and support, and 50% spent in the data centres for implementation/migration work
- You will perform troubleshooting and diagnosis for network issues involving routers, switches, and firewalls, including taking and analyzing packet captures
- Work with Fidessa infrastructure groups in other regions as well as vendors and service providers in both English and Japanese
- Frequent weekend work due to weekday change freeze
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Trustworthy and able to abide by strict change controls
- Committed to getting the job done and done well
- Expert knowledge of OSI Layers 1-4 and excellent overall internetworking ability
- Comfortable with configuring, installing, troubleshooting Cisco/Juniper/Arista/Checkpoint routers, switches and firewalls
- Significant experience working in data centre environments
- Business Level language skills in English & Japanese
- Familiar with Linux (preferably RHEL)
- History of large-scale DC network support preferred
- Experience with financial networks preferred
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours if required
- Cisco/Juniper/Checkpoint certification preferred
- Prior exposure to common programming languages (JavaScript/Python) and network automation preferred
