The Role:

A director is responsible for Resource Management, Productivity, and Communication and for leading a team of technical consultants in the development of software extensions, integrations and customizations including complex interfaces and reports

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Management
Works with VP-Technical Services and other Directors to define and manage the team to the set processes.
Reviews and approves requests for resource assignments for consultants within respective team.
Provides operational objectives for direct reports.
Defines reporting lines of the group following ION Energy’s promotion and position structure.
Works with peer groups to define the criteria required for resources to be promoted within team and to other teams within the organization.
Works with the PMO and direct reports to streamline accelerator, Extended Features, customization development.
Supervise onshore and offshore personnel including: Determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.

Works with VP Tech Services, Marketing and Product Management to define strategy for development of marketing materials for the group.
Establishes training requirements for group.
Ensures Talent Cultivation Centre (interns and new hire) program remains an effective vehicle for the creation of high-quality resources.
Identifies people, processes, and programs that will contribute to the improved productivity of the group.
Negotiates with Field consulting groups on proper protocol to interact with consultants actively engaged on an onsite project.
Ensures managers train on the use of ION documentation and development templates.
Ensures revenue and utilization targets are tracked and objectives are met.
Serve as Solution and Integration Architect /SME on project implementations, health checks, assessments, IAs and other client engagements. 
Maintain partial chargeability (target 50%) on one or more client accounts simultaneously
Delivers training internally and externally.  Supports corporate training initiatives, and documentation by providing best practices input as needed. 
Acts as go-to resource for complex ideas and questions from the field in their vertical and domain specialty
Be able to act as Design Authority
Work with product managers and development to identify products enhancements to meet market needs
Collect from various implementation projects the requirements and needs for extended feature roadmap
Escalation point for services and support on client issue resolution in technical area. 
Travel to customer site to work on projects as needed.

Works with the PMO to define the required roles for offsite projects.
Educates client base and other ION entities on Custom Solutions offerings.
Drives marketing of strategic objectives through the Account Management and sales resources, supplements with direct client interaction, as necessary.
Works with Knowledge Manager, PMO, and reporting managers on requirements for documentation.
Establishes regular operational strategy meetings with managers.
Follows strategic objectives listed for the group.
Sponsors new strategic objectives and escalates during senior management strategy sessions.
Establishes quarterly meetings with all reporting line consultants to provide state and direction of the group.
Attends senior management strategy sessions.

Ensure that all aspects of operability are delivered as part of the implementation process whilst ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or improved and ensure full compliance to operational standards, procedures and best practice.
Provides sales/pre-sales support through estimation, document authoring for RFP/RFI responses, sales proposals and hands-on demonstrations in specific technical area to meet the client’s desired business requirements.
Assist with creation of PS SOWs/Change Orders.
Oversee implementation of new applications, bug fixes, and capabilities, review and contribute to design documents.
Review documentation to support causes of service incident and problem resolution efforts to maintain entrusted applications/products on need basis.
Collaborate with various development teams on systems/application design enhancements and systems/application serviceability.
Assure compatibility of components and operating characteristics of subsystems or multi-product environment to ensure effective operation.
Configuration management of source code and control of released versions, and documentation.
Be aware and ensure compliance with established design, testing and documentation standards and practices which are applicable to the project/product/application and are current within the department.
Work with 3rd party technology companies as needed to implement technology solutions to customers.
Recommend and enforce company application coding standards.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a directly related IT field.
9+ years’ experience in Software Design and Development.
Minimum 9 years direct experience with ION Allegro products in designing, coding, configuring, testing, and debugging reports, plugins, and interfaces for ION solution in client environments.
Leadership and client facing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong Experience with a subset of the following programming technologies: C# .NET, Java, C++, PowerBuilder, ASP .NET, Soap Webservices, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery is required.
Experience in the energy, commodities or financial field or working with an ETRM/ or CTRM system.
Experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting installations of enterprise software in client environments.
Experience with DBMS such Oracle or MS SQL Server is required.
Hands-on Technical Manager with experience in software design and development with strict requirements for low-latency and deterministic performance.
Experience working with Integrated Development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, AWS Cloud9, Angular.
Experience with business reporting tools such as SAP Crystal Report, Microsoft SRSS, Tableau, Power BI
Experience with source control and continuous integration tools (GIT, TFS, Confluence, Bamboo) and issue tracking systems (Jira, NetSuite) is required.
Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
Strong Object-Oriented Skills.
Experience writing technical specifications.
Ability to keep abreast of new technological and or/procedural developments and demonstrate knowledge and expertise with software tools and an ability to evaluate.
Experienced and skilled user of office productivity tools such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project Server.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts using strong presentation skills.
Able to multi-task with strong time management and prioritization skills.
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and tactically implement them.
Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
Must be self-motivated, independent, resourceful and a demonstrated leader who is capable of being objective and giving/taking constructive feedback.
Solid business acumen, the ability to effectively lead all phases of software development and project life cycles.
Working knowledge of development technologies in deploying and supporting proprietary and vendor package applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to solve high performance engineering problems in a language agnostic manner.
SCRUM/Agile development methodology experience preferred
