Debtwire, an Acuris publication (a division of ION Analytics), the leading news and research provider for the global leveraged-finance and debt-restructuring communities, is looking for a senior APAC credit reporter ideally in Hong Kong or Singapore. The reporter will produce scoops on highly leveraged companies in Asia, including their plans to raise new financing from public and private markets, their challenges to repay debt and their attempts to restructure.
This is a perfect opportunity for reporters with an investigative bent eager to be a specialist in a dynamic part of the capital market. Training and source introductions will be provided, where needed. Compensation is based on experience and abilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce regular scoops and analysis providing opportunities and insights to the leveraged finance and debt-restructuring communities in APAC.
- Stay close to market participants, constantly developing new contacts and building up legacy sources
- Be proficient in the technical side of leveraged financing and restructuring methods. Training will be provided, but initiative is required
- Liaise with teammates in the region as well as globally
- Travel (when feasible) regularly in Asia and occasionally further afield to maintain and develop sources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- At least three-years of experience covering finance, preferably credit
- Fluent in English, and preferably a local Asian language
- Numerate
