About the Role
We are recruiting for a credit data analyst position for Credit Rubric and Debtwire, leveraged finance data services, offering credit analytics for North America and the European high yield and distressed markets. This is a contract position.
The analyst will work as part of a team reviewing the credit data of borrowers/issuers/companies across multiple industry sectors.
Successful candidates will have a good knowledge of accountancy and finance (financial statements: income statement, balance sheet and cash flows) through their degree course, work experience or graduate training programme. The candidate needs to be naturally curious and driven to figure out how to analyze complex situations and be tenacious in obtaining information.
Analysts will receive leveraged finance credit training and have the chance to learn about corporate credit markets and financial analysis.
Key responsibilities:
Enter borrowers quarterly financial statements and accounts into spreadsheets and database
Review borrower financial statements and commentary for key performance indicators
Working on financial statements and reading quarterly & annual reports, including legal documents
Enter new borrower lending terms and key credit statistics into database
Monitor and learn about 35-40 companies in one or two industry sectors
Work on, or assist with, various weekly, monthly, quarterly, credit reports and/or special reports, including data reports and ad-hoc projects.
Key skills:
Accounting: Ability to read and understand financial accounts. Thorough understanding of financial statements; income statement, balance sheet and cash flows.
Finance: Understanding of debt and equity securities and how news impacts those securities.
English language: Excellent written English and ability to read fast and comprehend information, including financial and legal terminology.
Writing skills: Good writing skills, with ability to build thesis and articulate a report in a structured way.
Excel: Comprehensive knowledge of Excel and ability to use Excel formulas.
Attention to detail: Job requires attention to detail and high levels of concentration.
Teamwork: Reliable, helpful and a good team member with ability to work in a team-based environment, with a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
Deadline: Ability to manage workflow under strict deadlines.
The role is based in Mumbai. It is a contract position with a normal day shift, 10am to 6pm. The selected candidate will be operating on a flexible hybrid model, with 3 days work from office and 2 days work from home.
