The Role

An opportunity exists for a talented and ambitious candidate to join the ION Group’s Spend Optimisation Team based in the group’s headquarters in Dublin.

The ION Group is a large multi-national organisation that provides innovative software to enable financial institutions, central banks and corporations to digitize and automate their most business-critical processes.

The Spend Optimisation Team within ION is a multi-disciplinary team heavily involved in the overall group’s operations through management of ION’s key vendor contracts and real estate portfolio as well as providing senior decision-making support analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to develop financial, analytical and commercial skills in a transformational role working on high-value projects within a dynamic financial technology group.

Key Responsibilities

Business partnering with operations teams with regards to financial analysis, budgeting and procurement support.
Preparation of financial and commercial analyses of supplier relationships to support strategic business decision-making.
Analysis of contractual terms and planning contractual negotiations.
Assist with the integration of newly acquired companies.
Managing key vendor/supplier databases.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams on projects to simplify complex processes.
Responsibilities of this role will be tailored to the level of experience and background of the candidate.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and hard-working individual who is goal orientated.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Uncompromising attention to detail.
Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Commercially astute.
High proficiency in MS Excel.
1.1 or 2.1 degree, preferably (but not exclusively) from an analytical, engineering, science, or business background.

Desired Skills

Relevant professional qualification, e.g. ACA, CFA
Business partnering experience.
Commercial decision-making experience.
Experience of contract negotiation or management.
Business strategy and stakeholder management experience.
