Cloud Platform Architect Lead – 6834

This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a rapidly growing Cloud team with ample opportunity to make your mark quickly.  As the expert in cloud platform architecture, you are responsible for overseeing application architecture and deployment in cloud platform environments - including public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud. This can include cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of current cloud architectural patterns and be able partner with business and technology leaders on their technology strategy, DevOps posture, application modernization plan, infrastructure, and security. More specifically, this role will help Group to establish their cloud strategy, assess application architectures, architect more resilient infrastructures, and implement solutions with measurable business outcomes.

•Advise and be a thought leader on modern public cloud solutions and how they interact with legacy enterprise technologies

•Collaborate with business and technology leaders and practitioners to frame a clear vision, a strategy to achieve it and a roadmap to get there

•Assess, define, and expand client cloud strategies, application and infrastructure architectures, governance, and cost management models

•Take ownership, and lead teams through architectural design, engineering implementation and operational integration of new ideas and technologies

•Support business development activities by scoping and estimating work for new engagements

•Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads

•Build DevOps automation and cloud-native architecture platforms

•Define migration strategy, and lead re-architecture of on-premises applications to the cloud 

•Fluency and proven track record in conceptualising, architecting, designing, implementing, and deploying enterprise-level cloud-based technology platforms to drive business transformation 

•Experience deploying AWS infrastructure using IAC tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation

•Hands-on experience building CI pipelines and automation (build, test, performance)

•Experience designing and building containerization solutions (infrastructure, pipelines, automation) using containers (ECS, ECS fargate) or Kubernetes (manifests, helm and deployment tooling, KOPS, EKS, EKS, or Fargate)

•Experience with designing and building serverless solutions is added advantageous 

•Understands cloud native architectures, patterns, application deployments and operations

•Understanding of Cloud security controls, network boundary controls and related toolsets

•AWS Associate-level Certification 

•Experience with other Cloud providers (GCP/Azure) is added advantageous
