The Role:
We are looking for a skilled Cloud Network Engineer with extensive experience in Azure networking and network security to join our dynamic team and help us build and maintain our product and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and maintain network architecture, including virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud resources using tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications and changes.
- Monitor system performance, identify security vulnerabilities, and implement solutions to enhance security and performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for cloud and network security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and security issues.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure and security posture.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5yrs+ Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role with a focus on Azure networking and security.
- Extensive experience with Azure services (Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, Azure vWAN, Azure FrontDoor, ExpressRoute, NAT Gateway, Route tables, etc.).
- Experience with NVA’s and 3rd party firewalls (CheckPoint, Palo Alto, etc.)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Proficiency in security best practices and tools (Azure Security Centre, Rapid7, SentinelOne, etc.).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, PRTG, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, or similar.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integrations.
- Knowledge of compliance and maturity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
