ION is seeking talented, enthusiastic and productive individuals to join the Implementation department. This department is responsible for implementing, deploying and maintaining Fidessa's multi-asset, trading and clearing platforms and global market data system on a managed, Software as a Service (SaaS) basis.  It also provides specialist consultancy services to our Enterprise client base.  If successful you would be assigned to the Cleared Derivatives Implementation team.

The Implementation Department is part of a global team that focuses on efficient, on-time delivery of solutions to ION’s customers. Department members work closely with the Commercial team on pre-sales support and with the Product, Development, Infrastructure and IT Operations departments on ensuring that systems are deployed in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices.

An in-depth understanding of the Futures and Options industry and the capabilities of the technologies deployed is essential to succeed. The successful candidate must be able to work as a member of a team or independently to facilitate the aims and objectives of the company and ensure that the customer receives the very highest levels of service and satisfaction.

Significant focus should be to provide input to improve ION’s products to offer best practice, forward looking solutions to clients and to challenge clients to embrace changes to workflows to offer improvements to benefit their business.

As part of a highly motivated team, your role will be pivotal in the management of ION’s projects internally and with our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of running our projects working with product development, delivery, sales and finance teams.

Your duties and responsibilities

  • Primary contact with the client during Implementation and Upgrade projects – face to face meetings / video / conference calls including client project team up to senior stake holders
  • Liaison with development to understand software functionality being delivered and to communicate any required new developments (enhancements and bug fixes)
  • Liaise with the Project Management Office (PMO) and appropriate departmental managers to ensure key deliverables and timescales are being met
  • Collaborate with clients to identify strategic and operational efficiency opportunities. Provide input and feedback to ION Product Management with respect to the usability, functionality, and supportability of the solutions such that improvements are made based on internal and customer feedback
  • Participate in Implementation Analysis (IA) engagements and in writing of IA reports and executive summaries
  • Discuss and document requirements liaising between the client and ION product and development, reviewing and suggesting in some cases alternative options rather than gap development. Collecting and documenting requirements for new functionality requests made by customers. Prepare and submit proposal requests for out of scope items
  • Analyze, research, manage, and resolve functional (and other) inquiries received from customers during implementation project.
  • Promptly record new issues and clearly and accurately communicate issue status and related details internally and externally. Liaise with system users to remedy business or operational problems
  • Identify where the assistance of ION technical hardware and software specialists is needed and coordinate internally as required
  • Provide customer training for XTP, ARC and other components
  • Assist the Client Services teams with more complex or escalated issues where specific knowledge of customer installations is required
  • Provide updates to installation pre-requisites if requirements change
  • Installation of software patches during implementation phase

Your skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Experience working within the Financial Services industry (especially ETD Back Office) is essential
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, whilst also assuming responsibility for your own work
  • Must be eager to learn new skills to enhance capability
  • Must possess the capacity to communicate and translate between technical teams and business users to understand requirements and attain workable solutions
  • Ability to manage client expectations and build strong, positive relationships based on trust
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and can-do approach
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, goal-oriented individual able to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team in a structured environment
  • Ability to cope under pressure and to manage priorities under tight deadlines
  • A good understanding of, and experience with, the technologies used within the Financial Services industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
