The Role:
This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a specialist team. As our continuity coordinator you will be responsible for implementing the BC Planning programme across ION Markets.
The successful candidate will have a track record and hands experience of implementing and managing business continuity planning across a large multi-national company. Ideally from a financial services background, the successful candidate will also have a strong technical background and knowledge of European and global operational resilience regulations.
Focused primarily on Business Continuity the successful candidate will play a key role in designing the operational structure and management for business resilience. They will be responsible for management, development and implementation of business impact assessment and BC Planning. This will also be in conjunction with operational resilience & the mapping of business critical business services.
The role holder will work as part of the Operational Resilience function and will contribute to broader resilience/BCP and crisis management work delivered by the Head of Operational Resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in Business Continuity for the ION Markets group and supporting critical business processes.
- Be versed in proactive Business Continuity strategies and plan creation.
- Work with both business and technical functions to create BC Plans, in alignment with ION Business Critical services.
- Oversee implementation and completion of Business Impact assessments for business and technical functions.
- Determine prioritisation for creation of BC Planning and develop a BC “organisation structure” to ascertain number of BC plans and tiering required.
- Create a BC management framework and oversight reporting structure.
- Develop 3rd party risk management identified within the BC planning process.
- Undertake BC plan exercises, call tree exercises and support business and technical stakeholders to develop function exercises also.
- Create BIA and BC plan templates, utilising the ION toolset (Fusion RM).
- Monitor and Improve BC planning processes in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Report BC status, risks and RTO/RPO beaches across the Markets estate.
- Be responsible for the production of action plans and other deliverables, such as gap analysis and risks identified in the critical business processes.
- Contribute to horizon scanning, scenario and strategic risk analysis to help identify, quantify, evaluate and plan for potential future reputation and policy risks within the context of the company strategy and positioning.
- Collaborate effectively with other senior internal stakeholders with all areas of operational resilience and in particular regulatory developments.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Has experience in all aspects of Business Continuity.
- Has prior experience with implementing a Business Continuity programme at a tactical level and developing BIA’s and BC Plans within a software platform.
- Has hands on experience of implementing Fusion RM BCP planning and resilience modules.
- Has experience of using Fusion analytics tools to manage, measure and monitor Business Continuity.
- Has a proven track record of developing and implementing practical Continuity processes and frameworks.
- Has a track record of proactively creating business Impact analysis and managing the end to end mapping and subsequent risks.
- Has a track record of developing BCP plan templates in line with ION critical business requirements.
- Has deep knowledge of UK and European regulations, e.g. DORA and CP26/23 Operational Resilience requirements for Critical Third Parties.
- Experienced in designing controls, management and maturity of Business Continuity planning programme.
- Has experience creating BC plan exercises and reporting status of recovery capabilities, including RTO, RPO and impact tolerance status.
- Has experience in supporting critical business owners with the creation of their BCP plans.
- Has experience of working with legal teams, both in-house and external counsel.
- Has prior experience of interacting with stakeholders from different territories/markets to identify geographical/local risks and support on preparation/management as needed.
- Possesses excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills; able to listen to and engage effectively with senior network/global leaders during times when emotions and risks are high.
- Has a proven track record of handling confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgement.
