Acuris (an ION company) is looking for a motivated, experienced reporter to join the Singapore Mergermarket team to write market-moving scoops and in-depth executive interviews for both listed and private enterprises. The Singapore bureau produces high-profile M&A scoops in Southeast Asia and covers SME fundraising and start-up origination coverage.
Candidates with an established source network is preferred.
Key responsibilities:
- Interview Singapore-based public and private companies, startup to unicorns regarding M&A strategies and market trends and write stories in English
- Chasing deals and scoops ahead of competitors
- Take charge of allocated sectors and remain informed on companies, deals, activities, and trends
- Communicate and cooperate with local and regional team members
- Maintain and expand source network that includes corporate executives, bankers, advisors, and lawyers
Skills & Requirements:
- Work independently
- Good understanding of basic financial and legal concepts
- Passionate and aggressive in financial investigative reporting
- Solid financial reporting experience is highly preferred.
- Strong language skills - fluency in English. Would be good to have an additional Southeast Asian language skill but not essential
- Good time management skills.
