Senior Reporter, Europe M&A and Renewables – 10997

ION Analytics, Full-time, London
The Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide exclusive content on M&A, equity and debt financing concerning the renewables, and broader power generation, space in northern Europe,. The reporter will take a leading role in feeding content into ION Analytics’ Infralogic publication, as well as providing support to other products within the group. Infralogic Europe is the second-largest market by value of deals completed. In 2023, transactions worth USD 324bn reached financial close in Europe

Key Responsibilities:

  • To target five exclusive stories a week on topics such as M&A, renewables and power generation, financing, people moves, fund profiles, corporate strategy, and trend analyses, as well as to support on-diary news coverage.
  • Build and develop contacts with the finance community, including investors, corporates, developers, lenders and advisors.
  • Assist with ION Analytics’, primarily Infralogic’s, events with content creation, panel moderation and speaking.
  • Work with the EMEA editor, senior editors, and collaborating with colleagues across the group, to support content creation targeted at ION Analytics’ key customer segments.
  • Maintain high standards of copy and adhering to group-wide compliance policies.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the financial market, with proven record of reporting exclusives
  • At least five years of reporting experience in a reputable newsroom, with global exposure
  • Proven record of breaking news for a media organisation, as well as writing in-depth analyses
  • Ability to spot trends in market data and conduct research to identify and produce reports
  • Track record of ability to build network of sources to produce reports
  • Strong news and analyses writing skills
