PaRR Asia is looking to hire a Beijing based full-time senior reporter to cover Chinese government policy and regulatory developments, focusing on competition/antitrust law and investigations, merger reviews, international trade disputes and intellectual property.
The right candidate will be a strong investigative reporter with a demonstrable ability to develop and maintain sources, produce ‘diary’ and ‘off-diary’ stories, identify and report on regulatory change trends, and work with data. The candidate should be a persistent reporter, with a competitive attitude toward breaking news and a strong understanding of how policy and regulatory developments influence business.
The candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a collaborative attitude as the position entails regular liaising with editors, journalists and analysts in Asia and around the globe.
The role will be based in Beijing. The right candidate will have an opportunity to travel to conferences, and work with our teams in Brussels, London, Hong Kong and Washington.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of financial or legal reporting experience, preferably in mainland China
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Strong English writing skills
- Ability to work under time pressure as well as produce analytical features
