The Role:

The Tokyo Infrastructure group is seeking an additional member within the network team to assist with an upcoming DC migration project.

Your duties and responsibilities

  • 50% of your time will be based in the office working on planning and logistics, network design, deployment, troubleshooting and support, and 50% spent in the data centres for implementation/migration work
  • You will perform troubleshooting and diagnosis for network issues involving routers, switches, and firewalls, including taking and analyzing packet captures
  • Work with Fidessa infrastructure groups in other regions as well as vendors and service providers in both English and Japanese
  • Frequent weekend work due to weekday change freeze

Your skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Trustworthy and able to abide by strict change controls
  • Committed to getting the job done and done well
  • Expert knowledge of OSI Layers 1-4 and excellent overall internetworking ability
  • Comfortable with configuring, installing, troubleshooting Cisco/Juniper/Arista/Checkpoint routers, switches and firewalls
  • Significant experience working in data centre environments
  • Business Level language skills in English & Japanese
  • Familiar with Linux (preferably RHEL)
  • History of large-scale DC network support preferred
  • Experience with financial networks preferred
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours if required
  • Cisco/Juniper/Checkpoint certification preferred
  • Prior exposure to common programming languages (JavaScript/Python) and network automation preferred
