The Role:
Debtwire, the leading financial newswire for global fixed income markets, is looking for a driven journalist to cover leveraged loan markets in Asia Pacific.
We provide concerted training to our reporters, allowing them to make a mark in a dynamic, specialized market by providing a flow of scoops and analysis on debt raising, merger and acquisitions and re-financings. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious reporter seeking a platform to be able to really dig.
Key Responsibilities:
- The role involves working on a dynamic and fast-paced news desk environment. This demands the candidate’s quick thinking and stay ahead of the public information.
- A key responsibility will be to break news regarding corporate initiatives to raise, refinance and service leveraged debt. This requires the candidate be able to understand complex financial information and convey it clearly and accurately.
- The role also requires regular coverage on secondary loan market activity. This includes tracking the buying and selling of loans and understanding the implications of these transactions for the investors.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues and industry sources is crucial in this role. Journalists will need to build and maintain good relationships with bankers, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather insights.

- Financial reporting experience and a familiarity with Asian financial markets — especially for bonds and loans
- Self-starters, determined, analytical and quick learners with the ability to write clearly and coherently
- Junior and senior reporters are invited to apply
- The ideal candidate would be based in Singapore or Hong Kong
- Fluency in English is a must
