ION wins ‘Best API Trader’ for Global Finance GW Platt FX Tech Awards 2022
GW Platt FX Awards 2022 by Global Finance Magazine’s named ION Group’s MarketFactory as the Best API Trader.

Global Finance’s GW Platt FX Awards have been running for 22 years and 2021 was the debut year for its ‘Tech’ class. The FX Tech Awards were introduced to celebrate technological innovation that has helped the FX industry become more agile and resilient amid disruption and/or has helped provide tools to address major challenges, such as liquidity sourcing, trade execution and fair access to market data.

MarketFactory launched Whisperer in 2010 to provide a low-latency product that would allow clients to connect seamlessly to the diverse and growing FX market. The last 12 months have seen turbulent market conditions and prolonged market data spikes. Despite this, MarketFactory customers had zero connection issues. Our API and platform successfully handled the marked increase in data and the spikes around monthly non-farm payroll numbers. Whisperer performed impeccably as a high-throughput, low-latency product. It handled over 100,000 messages per second and kept latency down to 5-7 microseconds. The Whisperer API now supports all FX instruments: spot, NDFs, swaps, forwards, NDSs, options, and futures. Our future offerings go beyond FX to include equities, energy, rates, and agriculture.
We recently expanded MarketFactory’s global footprint, adding SG1 and Aurora co-locations to our existing NY4, LD4, and TY3 co-location spaces. We can now fully support our client’s physical and virtual connectivity needs in all regions, 24/7.
