The Role:
ION Markets FX provides mission critical systems for foreign exchange. Technical Implementation Engineers ensure efficient, on-time delivery of solutions to ION’s customers. They work closely with the customers and Product, Development, Infrastructure and Client Support teams to ensure that systems are updated and maintained in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Hands on implementation and configuration of FX trading systems.
On-boarding of new clients and services.
Assisting with client testing initiatives
Installation of enhancements and fixes
Manage client and component specific configurations
Analyse, research, manage, and resolve technical inquiries received from customers during implementation projects
Raise bugs or enhancement requests that are identified during implementation
Product and maintain technical documentation to support team activities.
Assist the Client Services teams with more complex or escalated issues where specific knowledge of customer installations is required.
Liaise with internal teams to provide technical background to installations and requirements
Participate in and manage regular customer review calls
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Experience in technical customer facing roles and ability to demonstrate strong customer focus
Proficient in Linux, Windows and SQL
Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, organised and proactive
Must be able to demonstrate a strong analytical approach to problem solving
Must be able to work as part of a team, whilst also assuming responsibility for your own work
Must be eager to learn new skills to enhance capability
Must possess the capacity to communicate and translate between development, infrastructure and business users to understand requirements and attain workable solutions
Ability to manage client expectations and build strong, positive relationships based on trust
Excellent organisational, time management and multi-tasking abilities
Self-motivated, hardworking, goal-oriented individual able to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team in a structured environment
Ability to cope under pressure and to manage priorities under tight deadlines
Preferred
eFX system knowledge or experience working in foreign exchange or financial services environment a distinct advantage
Good working knowledge of shell scripting and Python.
