The Implementation Department is part of a global team that focuses on efficient, on-time delivery of solutions to ION’s customers. Department members work closely with the Commercial team on pre-sales support and with the Product, Development, Infrastructure and IT Operations departments on ensuring that systems are deployed in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices.
An in-depth understanding of the Futures and Options industry and the capabilities of the technologies deployed is essential to succeed. The successful candidate must be able to work as a member of a team or independently to facilitate the aims and objectives of the company and ensure that the customer receives the very highest levels of service and satisfaction.
Significant focus should be to provide input to improve ION’s products to offer best practice, forward looking solutions to clients and to challenge clients to embrace changes to workflows to offer improvements to benefit their business.
As part of a highly motivated team, your role will be pivotal in the management of ION’s projects internally and with our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of running our projects working with product development, delivery, sales and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
•Hands on implementation and configuration of new XTP systems including all required components
•Provide updates to installation pre-requisites if requirements change
•Upgrades and configuration of systems during implementation phase
•Installation of software patches during implementation phase
•Perform activities required for data migration from donor systems
•Perform backups and restores of system data as required
•Perform activities required for Disaster Recovery testing
•Assist client with required interface setups (imports and exports)
•Configure distribution and imports for ION data services (Prices, Margin data, ISIN service, FOW Euromoney, Limits)
•Provide technical customer training for XTP, ARC and other components, covering system management and entitlements.
•Provide training internally and externally for Reporting Suite and DTS
•Liaise with internal teams to provide technical background to installations and requirements
•Perform memory analysis on system performance
•Provide technical assistance on testing new components and server specifications
•Manage server health on systems during implementation phases – disk space, memory
•Promptly record new issues and clearly and accurately communicate issue status and related details internally and externally. Liaise with system users to remedy technical or operational problems
•Analyze, research, manage, and resolve technical inquiries received from customers during implementation projects
•Submit automation and improvement requests to team manager for review
•Assist the Client Services teams with more complex or escalated issues where specific knowledge of customer installations is required.
Required Skills,Experience and Qualifications
•Proficient in Linux, SQL, shell scripting, Python, Excel and PowerPoint
•Experience working within the Financial Services industry (especially ETD Back Office) is essential
•Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, organised and proactive
•Must be able to demonstrate a strong analytical approach to problem solving
•Must be able to work as part of a team, whilst also assuming responsibility for your own work
•Must be eager to learn new skills to enhance capability
•Must possess the capacity to communicate and translate between development, infrastructure and business users to understand requirements and attain workable solutions
•Ability to manage client expectations and build strong, positive relationships based on trust
•Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities
•Self-motivated, hardworking, goal-oriented individual able to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team in a structured environment
•Ability to cope under pressure and to manage priorities under tight deadlines
•A good understanding of, and experience with, the technologies used within the Financial Services industry
