The Role:

We are looking to hire a "Systems Infrastructure Engineer" who will be part of a team responsible for the deployment of the systems and systems architecture of the EMEA data centres.
The Systems Infrastructure Engineer role is based within the EMEA Data Centre department.  Some out of hours work and travel to other data centres will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Communicate with the EMEA Data Centre Manager, the Global System Architects and other EMEA Systems Team members to establish and build new systems architecture requirements
Communicate proposed advancements to management clearly and concisely
Follow and produce documentation to ensure that work on the EMEA systems architecture is in line with global standards
Correctly maintain all documentation against the configuration
Liaise with other Fidessa teams and 3rd party suppliers where necessary
Assist where required with Data Centre live environment issues

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications :

Good understanding of Linux (RedHat or similar)
Knowledge of RedHat deployment components: Satellite, Cobbler, Puppet, Puppet Dashboard, Foreman
Understanding of Linux KVMs / VMware / Solaris zones
Good understanding of storage technologies (SAN, DAS, Local)
Knowledge of x86 hardware
Scripting and shell programming
Basic database skills and the ability to work with professional DBAs
Understanding of TCP/IP
Experience of Network monitoring e.g. Nagios, PRTG
MS Office skills, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
Clear, accurate and concise written and verbal communication skills
Presentation skills
Documentation skills
Analytical skills with good attention to detail
Excellent time management and planning skills
Organised, able to use initiative to prioritise work and able to adapt to changing workload priorities
Takes ownership of delegated tasks and sees through to completion without fail
Enthusiastic and highly motivated

Ability to create and maintain working relationships
