Senior Sales Manager – Commodities

The Role:

Working as part of the ION EMEA Commodities Account Management team, Senior Sales Managers act as the primary point of contact between ION and new customers. Senior Sales Managers are responsible for creating new relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within a portfolio of new accounts, to generate sales of products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to sell products, services and solutions offered by ION Commodities
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding annual targets for license and consulting services (between $2M-$4M annually)
  • Manage the business relationship between ION and clients to achieve new sales and services revenue goals and book the clients’ current Annual Contract Value (ACV) 
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the sales cycle 
  • Creation of Commercial Proposals and supporting documentation through liaising with other departments such as Professional Services and Corporate Sales
  • Ensure client gets optimum value from the product and ensure client satisfaction is achieved
  • Responsible for assisting in accuracy of invoicing and debt collection in conjunction with the sales support organization
  • Coordinate members of the opportunity team for a particular deal which include product specialists, RFX, pre-sales consultants and other SME’s.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Hunter / Relationship building mentality – developing existing and cultivating new relationships within the Accounts, identifying and closing opportunities
  • Excellent interpersonal and both written/verbal English communication skills
  • Strong client facing/executive presence/influencing capability 
  • Desire to work within a team-oriented environment
  • Previous sales experience, new business development experience within commodities trade and risk management arena
  • Preferred
  • Experience in strategic selling methodology
  • Strong grasp of English – additional EMEA languages 
  • Experience of CTRM solutions eg. Openlink, Allegro, Triple Point, Aspect across EMEA Power, Gas, LNG, Oil, Petrochemicals, Metals and agri/soft commodities
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
