The Role:
Xtract Research is seeking a leveraged finance lawyer to join our team as a Senior Covenant Analyst. In this role you will write reports that summarize and analyze material terms in high yield bond offering memos and/or credit agreements related to leveraged loans. You will also answer questions from our clients – hedge funds, asset managers, banks, and law firms.
Attention to detail, issue spotting, clear, concise writing skills and the ability to make legalese understandable for non-lawyers are all important skills for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Write research reports on leveraged loan covenants.
- Write event-driven research and reports on special situations as they develop in the market.
- Write research for our growing library of covenant primers
- Write market leading reports that set the conversation on new trends and market developments.
- Answer client questions.
- Meet tight deadlines for publication.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Finance lawyer with extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing leveraged finance documentation, including credit agreements and/or indentures.
- 4+ years of Big Law experience in leveraged finance.
- Deep understanding of the leveraged finance market and how covenants and financial definitions work in leveraged finance documents.
Estimated Salary Range
- USD 200,000 - USD 250,000 (Negotiable)
