The Role

The IT Infrastructure team ensures the smooth operation of a 24x7 highly available globally distributed infrastructure. The team provides support for all systems, network and security infrastructure across IONA’s global offices, data centers and the clouds. The team is responsible for continuous service improvement across the infrastructure to provide a stable and resilient platform for all Dealogic. 

Key Responsibilities

The Platform Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation of IONA’s network and security infrastructure. 
This role is part of a team of Network SME’s who provide both 24/7 follow the sun support to the business as well as developing and improving the globally distributed network and security landscape.
Participate in the delivery of highly available, scalable and supportable solutions and driving technology advancements, as well troubleshooting, problem resolution and root cause analysis. 
You will also contribute towards the implementation of a broad range of infrastructure projects, working closely with counterparts in all regions.
In essence, you will be involved in fast-paced environment subject to change.  You will be exposed to deep, real, and dynamic engineering challenges.  This is not a role for someone who wants to babysit a static and lethargic system. 

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

At least 7 years of relevant experience in a commercial environment as a Network Engineer
At least 5 years working in global team supporting a global network
Sound technical background spanning network, cloud, application networking and security technologies
Experience of working closely with other IT teams and Software Development teams
Awareness of Service Delivery methodologies (e.g. ITIL)
Experience of working on large scale projects
Experience with Multiprotocol BGP
Experience with Check Point security infrastructure
Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services networking and services.
Automation experience and preferably some use of PowerShell, JSON, Python and or Azure CLI, AWS CLI, Terraform
Experience with application Delivery Controllers (global and local load-balancing, content switching, web application firewalls
Strong work ethic
Flexible and pro-active approach
Disciplined and able to work under pressure
Take ownership of support and operational issues
Communicate effectively to various audiences both technical and non-technical
Ability to think smartly and deal effectively with competing priorities and demands
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology is desirable but not required
Global and Local Load balancing solutions for High Availability, Disaster Recovery & business continuity across large and complex web applications
Public Key Infrastructure and SSL Management
Maintain, support and implement changes to existing internal and public DNS infrastructure preferred but not required
Maintaining & supporting security systems and solutions including anti-virus, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), patch management, infrastructure hardening
AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting), RADIUS, SSH, Proxy, vulnerability scanning/penetration testing etc. are desirable but not required
Support, maintain and improve local and wide area networks, routing protocols, MPLS, site to site VPN and Internet
Support complex and distributed Layer 2 and Layer 3 network, dynamic routing protocols, QoS
Monitoring and analyzing traffic across large scale distributed networks (using PRTG, SCOM, Wire shark, etc.
Support, maintain and improve multi cloud connectivity (Express Route, Direct Connect, VPN Gateway, Transit Gateway) and routing (UDR, Route Tables)
Support cloud load balancing solutions for high availability, disaster recovery & business continuity across large and complex web applications (Public/Internal Load Balancer, Traffic Manager, Application Gateway, FrontDoor, Elastic Load Balancing)
