ECM Senior Editor – 8060

ION Analytics is leveraging the trusted relationships and market presence of Dealogic in the ECM and SPAC space and Mergermarket/Dealreporter’s unique predictive intelligence to take its global ECM coverage to new heights.

To do so, we are looking for a senior editor to report to our ECM Global Editorial Lead Sofia Cerqueira and lead our content output in North America, personally leading from the front with exclusives, while contributing as a key stakeholder on the global strategic transition to hosting editorial and data content across ION Analytics platforms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a player-manager, with an unrivalled contact book in NorthAm capital markets and M&A. They will also have considerable management and execution experience, so they can champion ECM coverage across regional teams to ensure content output catered to all five domains. 

They will join our global network of over 500 ION Analytics journalists, operating within a fast-paced team. They will write and edit scoops on significant private and public market deals, breaking news & analysis throughout the deal lifecycle, guiding our market insights to become the “voice of the market”.

Lead production of ECM and SPAC content throughout the 30+ regional journalist team.

Line-manage reporters contributing to the wider deals coverage universe.

Produce c.12 exclusive articles and breaking news throughout the ECM/SPAC space, by interviewing decision makers, CEOs, bankers, fund managers, lawyers and other sources.

Act as a key global stakeholder in support of the Global Editorial Lead’s strategic project to develop editorial content with Cortex data – providing product-focused insights from key industry players on content consumption as we shape the offer.

Work closely with editorial capabilities across the group to deliver actionable, data-led human insights to the multiple segments and across the ECM, M&A and LCM domains

Able to bring substantial reporting and editing experience and a bulging source book from another financial news service, newspaper or online publication to the table. 

Should have excellent English speaking and writing skills.

Driven and tenacious, able to work both on own initiative and collaboratively

Willing to travel to key events throughout North America and globally and be eligible to work in the US.
