We have an opportunity available at Infralogic, part of the ION Analytics division of the ION Group. ION Analytics is a provider of business intelligence, with niche products which cover public and private M&A, distressed debt and infrastructure, to name a few. Infralogic is the only analytical platform that helps infrastructure investment professionals originate new business by quickly gaining insights into the market. Our major offices are in London, New York, Hong Kong and Mumbai. We are looking for an Editorial Research Analyst for our Hong Kong office. The Editorial Research Analyst will gather, process and systematize data and report on new market developments.

About the Role

  • Gather data on existing or future infrastructure projects including renewable energy and power
  • Write news stories and analytical reports
  • Assist news reporters with research
  • Create graphics and charts to visualize data for publication
  • Manage global databases of infrastructure merger and acquisition activity and new projects
  • Research details pertinent to these transactions, including their capital structures, investors, lenders and advisors
  • Assist in the management of the data quality of these databases

Core Competencies required

  • The drive to learn quickly, and work without constant supervision
  • An ability to understand and research complex financial documents and websites
  • A grasp of why some information is newsworthy, while other information is not
  • A keen eye for details and the ability to spot mistakes
  • A can-do, collaborative attitude; you will join a global team
  • An ability and willingness to switch tasks on the fly to meet the demands of a dynamic and frequently changing newsroom environment

Skills, experience, and qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a reporting, research or financial role
  • Experience with or an understanding of infrastructure or energy markets
  • The ability to write clearly in English
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Experience creating graphics would be a bonus
