Consumer Reporter – United Kingdom – 7897

We are currently looking for two hungry reporters to cover the Consumer beat across Europe. The successful candidates will join our global network of over 500 ION Analytics dedicated journalists, You’ll work within a fast-paced team writing scoops on companies coming to the M&A market, live private equity-focused auctions and some of the most high profile public markets transactions on major brand names. There will also be scope to report on industry-defining people moves and drive industry trend analysis feeding through to M&A and IPO dealflow. Our coverage spans from exclusives revealing a company is on the sale track to scooping the successful bidder in a landmark auction, through to unique public markets content on risk arbitrage situations in the Consumer space. Your reporting will be published to hundreds of thousands of Mergermarket and Dealreporter subscribers.

Produce exclusive articles and breaking news throughout the European Consumer universe by interviewing CEOs, bankers, lawyers, private equity portfolio managers and other sources

Attend key conferences and relevant industry events in order to conduct sideline exclusive interviews

Work independently and in collaboration with M&A, ECM, regulatory and fixed income-focused colleagues and the wider team of reporters in EMEA

Working closely with editorial capabilities across the group to deliver actionable, data-led human insights to user personas as varied as portfolio managers, coverage bankers, corporate executives, debt investors, infrastructure advisors, etc. 

Produce a steady flow of copy under tight deadlines

Write 15-20 articles per month.

Should have excellent English speaking and writing skills, with fluency in another major European language a bonus.

Able to bring substantial reporting experience and a bulging source book from another financial news service, newspaper or online publication to the table. 

Well driven and tenacious

Able to work both on own initiative and collaboratively

Willing to travel to key events in the region and be eligible to work in the UK
